Pay Order

A Pay Order (also known as a Banker's Cheque) at Nagarik Sahakari Bank Ltd. Bhiwandi is a secure, pre-paid financial instrument used for making local payments. Unlike a regular cheque, a Pay Order is issued by the bank itself, ensuring that the payment cannot be dishonored due to insufficient funds.

Key Features

► Guaranteed Payment: Since the bank deducts the amount from the applicant's account before issuing the instrument, the payment is guaranteed. It cannot "bounce."

► Local Use: Pay Orders are specifically designed for payments within the same city or clearing zone (e.g., within Bhiwandi or the Thane clearing grid).

► Non-Negotiable: These instruments are usually marked "Account Payee Only," meaning the funds can only be credited to the specific beneficiary named on the order.

► Validity: A Pay Order is typically valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

► No Account Required: While it is easier for account holders, even non-customers can often request a Pay Order by providing cash (up to ₹49,999) and the required KYC.
